Hue

The actual 'name' of a colour — red, blue, green — independent of how light, dark, bright or muted it is.

What it means

Hue is the basic identity of a colour: which point on the colour wheel it sits on. Two reds can share a hue but have completely different temperatures, values and chromas. Color analysis cares about hue mainly because some hues sit naturally warm (orange, gold), some sit naturally cool (blue, magenta), and some can be pushed either way (red, green, purple).

How it shows up in your Better in Style analysis

Hue, value and chroma together describe every colour — and the three corresponding axes (warm-cool, light-deep, soft-clear) describe every face. Your season is the intersection of those three readings.

Better in Style applies these ideas to your photo and tells you which season you actually are.
